Sound Healing is a deeply relaxing treatment that allows you to access part of yourself where healing of the body and mind takes place. It can be used to alleviate a number of problems and disorders such as stress, pain and discomfort, muscle tension, insomnia, water retention and more.
Sound is applied to your body using voice, tuning forks, tibetan singing bowls and other instruments. Alexandra may also use hands on healing with your permission.
You sit or lie comfortably, fully clothed, and focus on relaxation.

An Assemblage Point Alignment may be given if needed. The Physical Assemblage Point is the point at which all of the body's subtle energy lines meet. If out of alignment, a person may experience anything from extreme tiredness to prolonged stress, anxiety and mania, and all the stages in between. If other energetic assemblage points need aligning, this may be given as a separate treatment. A person is then encouraged to look closely at areas of their life that may have caused the mis-alignment to prevent it happening again.

After the treatment you will be encouraged to drink plenty of water, you may be given some breathing exercises to do as homework and asked to monitor some lifestyle choices.
Please contact to discuss your requirements, although a full consultation will be given as part of your first session.

How Does Sound Healing Work?

Today we are beginning to understand how important sound and music are for us. Modern science now supports the ancient belief that all matter comes from vibration and sound. Physicists have found that the physical world is made up of vibrating energy.
Every organism, every thing in our world is a collection of vibrating particles, including us! Anything that vibrates has a frequency. If you apply a strong frequency to a weaker one it changes. This is called "entrainment".
We all know that relaxing music puts us in a "better state of mind" and that someone drilling the road up outside our house, does not! This is because the frequency of what you are listening to, and or being subjected to, will affect your body as a whole, not just your ears! You find yourself relaxing and unwinding, or becoming tense and angry. Sound affects our mood and state of mind, our state of mind and stress affects our health!

Sounds change our brain waves. During a Sound Healing treatment your brain waves will usually change from everyday Beta mode to Alpha and Theta mode associated with daydreaming and meditation. As the brain waves change, the nervous system stops releasing stress hormones, which allows you to focus on the present moment, relaxed and without fear. The cells in our bodies are very sensitive to outer vibration and frequencies. During a session gentle sounds (frequencies) are applied to the body which affect the cells within, and as mentioned above, our cells, being made up of vibrating particles, respond directly to stronger vibrations (sounds or frequencies) applied to them.

Sound Healing helps move the flow of energy in the body. When we get tired and have to cope with the trials of everyday life, we build up stagnant energy which causes blocks. These blocks can affect our mood, emotions and therefore our state of health.
Our bodies are made up of approximately 70% water. Think how easy it is to move water if you apply force to it. The wind causes ripples on a lake or makes the sea rough, if you put a bowl of water on top of a loud speaker pumping out bass it will move the water inside the bowl. Water is changeable. If it makes up 70% of us, then we can change too. Applying a force, however gentle, in this case sound to our bodies, helps shift any stagnant water/energy within us that may have built up. Think of a fresh flowing stream, how beautiful it is. Now think of a stale, stagnant pool of water. The energy in our bodies is the same. If it flows unhindered, constantly renewed we feel good, if it is left to get stagnant we feel tired and unwell.
Sound Healing is an ancient form of healing that clears and renews your energy, and brings you to a state of calm, relaxation and well-being. Assemblage Point Alignment aids this process further.

During a healing session, Alexandra will guide you to take responsibility for your own healing journey. Commitment and responsibility for your own healing means that you WANT to get better. This seems like a strange thing to say, but being well again can bring huge shifts in our life, from what is expected of us, to the way people respond to us.
Being unwell can make us feel disempowered and desperate and it is easier to ask doctors and therapists to wave their magic wand to try to make us better, shifting the responsibility from us.
A healing session should make you feel good, as your energy is renewed, but most importantly, an experienced healer will guide you to a state of mind where your body will begin to understand how to heal itself. It is a process, but a process that empowers you to find out what your body needs to be well. This is a profound journey and requires commitment from the start.
Wellbeing is something that needs to be practised in all areas of our life.

Incredible research by Fabien Maman,  findings and photos showing how cancer cells react to Sound can be seen in an article written by Simon Heather (Founder of the College of Sound Healing) called "The Healing Power of Sound". Click here to be directed to the article.
The pictures show how the cells change form and become completely unstable eventually falling apart when subjected to certain tones in the melodic scale.
The articles says, "it appears that the cancer cells were not able to support a progressive accumulation of frequencies...however the healthy cells appeared supple and able to freely receive, absorb and return the energy."
This is yet another reason why Singing is so good for the body. If we are generating our own sounds, our cells are literally bathed in vibration and frequency. The more we get to know and understand our voice, moving away from self criticism and judgement, the more we can participate in our own healing process.
